  Sree Daksheswar Mahadev Temple is located in Kankhal town of Uttarakhand State. Sree Daksheswar Mahadev is an incarnation of Lord Shiva.   This temple is located just 100 meters from the main temple of Sabarimala. Maalikapurathamma Temple is visited after the darshan of Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple. There are two beliefs on Malikapurathamma, that it is the demon that fought with Sri Ayyappan as Mahishi.  Once the demon was defeated, a beautiful lady emerged from the body and wished to remain with Sri Ayyappa.  Another belief is that the daughter of Sri Ayyappa’s guru became a Sanyasini and desired to remain with Sri Ayyappa.
