Sri Kasi Visweswara Swamy Temple – Bugga Agraharam

  Sri Kasi Visweswara    Swamy temple is located at Bugga Agraharam, Chittoor district in Andhrapradesh State. It is located on the banks of Kusasthalai river. Here lord is an incarnation of Lord Shiva.Sri Annapurna devi and Sri Kamakshi devi are the consorts of Kasi Visweswara Swamy. This temple has a 3 tiered Rajagopuram. There are five waterfalls known as the Pancha Ganga that run into the Kushastali River. This location is called Dakshina Kasi. It was once a temple dedicated to Kalabhairava. At one point, Gowtama Maharshi wanted to turn this area into Dakshina Kashi and transform the Ganges into the Kushasthali River. He performed a Mahayagna, or penance, and was blessed by Shiva and Ganga to accomplish his goal. Shiva gave Gowthama Maharshi a Shivalinga. The same was built in this temple by him.   Sri Bugga Ramalingeswara Swamy Temple is located at Tadipatri town in Anantapur District. This Temple was built in the 16 th  Century. Ramalingeswara Swamy is the incarnation of Lord Shiva. The Lingam is Swayambhu placed on a pedestal in the sanctum, here water is seen flowing out of the pedestal all the time. The temple received its name from a perennial underground stream (Bugga in Telugu) from which water perpetually flows into the sanctum sanctorum at the location where the Lingam is consecrated. The main entrances to the temple are on the south and west. The temple's western, northern, and southern gopurams were constructed by the Vijayanagar kings. The most elaborate sculpture, with intricate carvings, is found on the north gopuram, despite its incompleteness. On the temple walls, there are intricately detailed miniature carvings of the entire Shiva Purana. On the walls are also scenes from the Hindu epics Ramayana and Mahabharata.
