Ahilyabai Temple – Somnath

 

Ahilyabai Temple is located in Somnath of Gujarat State.

It is opposite to famous Somnath Temple

This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva

This temple was built in the 17th century by Ahilyabai Holkar

There is a Shivling below the ground level of this little pink-painted temple. When compared to the recently constructed Somnath Temple, everyone is allowed to enter the garbagriha and perform pooja with the help of the priest. The musical accompaniment for the aarti offered here includes damroos.
