Sri Ananthashayana Temple – Karkala

 

Sri Ananthashayana Temple is an ancient temple in Karkala, in Karnataka State.

This temple is dedicated to Lord Anantha Padmanabha Swamy.

This temple was built during the 15th century

The magnificent idol of Lord Vishnu is carved out of a single black stone with Lord Brahma coming out of Vishnu's navel, and Sridevi and Bhudevi at his feet.

This temple is protected by the Indian Archaeological Survey.
