Sri Kalyana Vikirtheswarar Swamy Temple is located in Venjamangudalur Village in Aravakurichi Taluk in Karur district of Tamilnadu State

The presiding deity lord Shiva is called Vikriteswarar and the Ambal his consort is called Vikritambika.

This temple's Lord Shiva is also known as "Vikirtheeswarar," which translates to "the lord who grants us all that is good." Here is where devotees can worship Lord Shiva to seek forgiveness of sins.

Legend has it that a hunter king by the name of Venchan is said to have worshipped Shiva here hence the name Venchamaakoodal. Shiva is said to have appeared in the guise of an old priest and blessed Sundarar with gold. The king of Devaas, Indiran, is said to have worshipped the Lingam here to get rid of his sins.

Brahmotsavam is celebrated in the Tamil month of Maasi (February-March), Tiruvadhirai in Margazhi (December-January), Annabishekam in Aipasi (October-November), Tirukarthikai in November-December and Mahashivrathri in February-March.
